The cast iron burner which takes between 2 and 4 minutes to heat holds the heat well. The burner is rated at 1300 watts. This portable electric stove has received many favorable reviews, however there are some negative reviews about taking an unacceptably long time to heat up.
The Aroma Single-Burner Portable Electric Range Hot Plate, AHP-303 is made with an easy to clean die-cast body with 4 temperature settings. It is a coil type stove rated at 800 watts. It has on record excellent reviews for exemplary performance but some adverse comments about poor technical support. It is available starting at the low price of $16.The Aroma Portable Electric Single Hot Plate Kitchen Single Burner Stove is made of durable high-cast metal with a single burner and 4 temperature settings. It is designed for easy cleaning and is reputed to be rugged and durable rendering excellent service. However there are some adverse reviews that the stove takes too long to heat up.

This portable unit has received excellent performance reviews and is good value for money being priced reasonably.
The BroilKing PR-D1 Professional Double Burner Range is a portable electric stove which reputedly reaches very high temperatures. The elements are only 5 1/2” which means they cannot effectively handle large pots which take too long to heat up. Another problem is that the temperature selection does not have a medium setting which is a major disadvantage. Some reviews state that the burner starts to heat up when the stove is plugged in but not switched on which is a safety hazard.
